Our Customer was looking to share data between multiple office locations. They also wanted to provide map services to a set of clients as required. And some of their datasets were propreitary and hence would only be accessible to a single group/location. We suggested using Geonetwork for data discovery and collaboration and proposed a completely open source solution which would incrementally replace their propreitary installs.

The system helped improve data usage within the organization due to the ease with which users were able to locate relevant data.
